Report: Part of bourbon warehouse collapses in Nelson County

NELSON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Part of a warehouse that stores barrels of bourbon collapsed Friday in Bardstown.

According to the Kentucky Standard newspaper, it happened at Barton 1792 Distillery after 11 a.m.

Nelson County Emergency Management Director Joe Prewitt tells the newspaper an estimated 9,000 barrels of bourbon spilled.

There were no injuries, but he tells the newspaper there is a concern the whiskey could run into a tributary of the Beech Fork River that is about 250 feet away.
