Beshear: Clinton Co. man pleads guilty after shooting gun in home of estranged wife, child
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Attorney General Andy Beshear and his Office of Special Prosecutions say a Clinton County man has pleaded guilty to wanton endangerment, criminal mischief and terroristic threatening.
Officials say 53-year-old Daniel R. Guffey, of Albany, pleaded guilty June 18 in Clinton Circuit Court to one count each of first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree criminal mischief and first-degree terroristic threatening.
Investigators say Guffey is facing 5 years in prison and must pay $1,000 in restitution. He is scheduled to be sentenced July 12.
The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case, and Beshear’s Office of Special Prosecutions is handling the prosecution.
According to court records, on or about November 7, 2017, Guffey kicked in the door to the home of his estranged wife and discharged a firearm damaging her stove, while she and her minor son were present. Guffey also threatened to shoot his estranged wife.
Beshear says Guffey is currently on home incarceration.
