U.K. Alert false alarm
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The University of Kentucky has responded to concerns after an emergency alert was mistakenly sent Thursday morning. The alert, which was received just before 10 a.m., was attributed to a technical malfunction involving the university’s alert software.
Through their social media channels, UK officials clarified that the alert was erroneously sent to office phones across the campus. They reassured students and staff that there was no actual emergency at that time and that there was no threat to campus safety.
