Missing woman turns herself in to jail in Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A woman missing for nearly three weeks after being accidentally released from jail has turned herself in.
Natalie Maurer was released on October 8 because of a court error.
Maurer’s mother became concerned because she had not heard from her for almost two weeks after she was released.
She put up fliers around Lexington asking for help locating Maurer.
Her mother says Maurer was supposed to be held at the jail for her own safety until there was room for her at a drug treatment center.
According to the Lexington Police Department, Maurer turned herself in to the Fayette County Detention Center on Monday night.
She is in jail on charges of drug possession and theft by unlawful taking.
