Two arrested in shooting in Paris

PARIS, Ky. (WTVQ) – Paris police have two in custody following a shooting Thursday.

Officers were called to Brook Street in Paris around 1:13 p.m. about a shooting.

They found the victim up the street, suffering from a non life-threatening gunshot wound to the stomach.

He was taken to the University of Kentucky Hospital.

Police say the two suspects, 18-year-old Deontae Williams and 19-year-old Damian Jones, left the scene and headed to Lexington.

Lexington police arrested them a short time later and they were brought back to Paris.

Paris police say Williams was the shooter.

He is charged with wanton endangerment and assault

Jones is charged with wanton endangerment.
