Kentucky State Police investigate foul play in case of missing Clay County woman after remains identified
BIG CREEK, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) are investigating the death of a Clay County woman, Angela “Toot Toot” Smith, whose remains were recently identified after being found in 2021.
According to a release from KSP, Smith, 30, was reported missing by her family on March 27, 2016, in Big Creek, Kentucky. Nearly five years later, on March 6, 2021, human remains were discovered in the Daniel Boone National Forest in Big Creek. After extensive testing, the remains have now been positively identified as those of Angela Smith.
KSP detectives suspect foul play in the case, and the investigation remains ongoing under Detective Logan Gay.
