Rowan County investigation into report of gun in student backpack

ROWAN COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – An investigation is underway following a report of a student claiming to have a gun in their backpack at Tilden Hogge Elementary in Morehead.

According to the Rowan County School District, the incident occurred on Thursday when a student on a school bus was reported to have made the claim. School officials conducted a search of the student’s backpack but did not find a weapon.

The investigation into the allegations is ongoing.
