Laurel County woman facing assault and other charges

LONDON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A Laurel County woman is facing charges after allegedly attacking another woman at a home in London.

Police say Heather Manning has been charged with assault and unlawful imprisonment following an incident that occurred Sunday night on Heather Way. According to investigators, Manning allegedly attacked Judy Roberts with a weapon inside the home.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Roberts injured on the floor inside the home and Manning with a gunshot wound to her arm, lying on the ground outside. Both women were transported to UK Hospital in Lexington for treatment.

After receiving medical care, Manning was taken to the Fayette County Detention Center before being transferred back to Laurel County, according to investigators.
