Suspects due in court on drug and animal cruelty charges

HARRODSBURG, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Two people arrested over the weekend in Mercer County on charges of animal cruelty and drug trafficking are due back in court next week.

The Harrodsburg Police Department says that Kenneth Brawner and Gabriella Follmer were taken into custody on Sunday following a search of a home on Oregon Road. During the search, officers discovered a large amount of crystal meth, drug paraphernalia, and cash.

In addition to the drugs, police found numerous animals living in what they described as deplorable conditions. Brawner has been charged with drug trafficking, 33 counts of animal cruelty, and torture of a dog or cat. Follmer is also facing drug charges as well as charges related to animal torture.

The two are scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Thursday, September 5th.
