Former Lexington pastor indicted on seven felony charges

FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Former Lexington pastor Zachary King, 47, has been indicted on seven felony counts, including rape, following an investigation by the Attorney General’s Department of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Special Prosecutions Unit. The indictments were announced in a release by Attorney General Russell Coleman.

A Fayette County Grand Jury returned the indictments on Tuesday, according to the press release. King, who previously served as the executive pastor of LexCity Church, faces the following charges:

  • One count of Rape First Degree (Class B Felony)
  • One count of Sodomy First Degree (Class B Felony)
  • One count of Unlawful Use of Electronic Means to Induce a Minor to Engage in Sexual or Other Prohibited Activities (Class B Felony)
  • One count of Unlawful Transaction with A Minor First Degree with a Victim Under 18 (Class C Felony)
  • One count of Rape Third Degree (Class D Felony)
  • One count of Sodomy Third Degree (Class D Felony)
  • One count of Sexual Abuse First Degree (Class D Felony)

The Attorney General’s office stated in the release that the investigation was conducted by the DCI with support from the Lexington Police Department.
