Lexington officials file lawsuit against Hyundai and Kia
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – The City of Lexington has filed a lawsuit against car manufacturers Hyundai and Kia, citing concerns over the lack of anti-theft technology in their vehicles.
Mayor Linda Gorton announced the lawsuit, stating that Hyundai and Kia vehicles are being stolen at an alarming rate. City officials report that nearly 40 percent of cars stolen in Lexington are Hyundais and Kias.
Mayor Gorton emphasized the need for improved security measures in these vehicles to protect residents from theft.
