LPD: Jimmy John’s employee robbed at gunpoint

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – An employee taking out the trash was robbed at gunpoint Friday morning in Lexington.

Lexington police say the employee at Jimmy John’s on Waller Avenue was approached by a man with a gun while taking out the trash by the restaurant around 2:30 a.m.

The suspect forced the employee to go back into the store, where he took money from the safe.

He then took off.

Police say the employee was not injured.
