Three injured after boat collision at Lake Cumberland

RUSSELL COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Three people are hospitalized following a boat crash on Lake Cumberland. Russell County Search and Rescue reports that the incident occurred Saturday between Low Gap and the marina at Rowena.

Authorities say two boats collided on the lake, throwing three people into the water. All three individuals were wearing life jackets at the time of the crash.

Rescue crews responded swiftly, with helicopters transporting two of the rescued individuals to nearby hospitals. A third person was taken to a hospital by ambulance.

The conditions of the injured parties have not been disclosed, and the investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
