UPDATE: RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ)- Two southbound lanes of I-75 at mile marker 88 in Madison County reopened shortly after 10 p.m.

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – An accident Tuesday night closed a stretch of southbound Interstate 75 in Madison County, according to the state.

The crash was at mile marker 88, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.  The alert from the state was issued at 9:44 p.m.  The stretch of I-75 was expected to be closed for up to two hours, according to the state.

A detour was put in place.  Motorists could get off I-75 at Exit 90 and onto U.S. 25, which runs parallel with the interstate.
