Former teacher sentenced in Rowan County

ROWAN COUNTY, Ky. — A former high school teacher and coach in Rowan County has been sentenced to 22 years in prison on child pornography charges. The U.S. Attorney’s Office announced that 40-year-old Andrew Zaheri received his sentence on Monday.

According to his plea agreement, Zaheri admitted to initiating an inappropriate relationship in 2022 with a 17-year-old student at the high school where he taught. Court records indicate that Zaheri also confessed to creating sexually explicit images and videos of the victim using his cell phone.
