Non-Verbal autistic 4-year-old hit by a car in Boone County dies from injuries

UPDATE: According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, the child who sustained life threatening injuries as a result of the July 7, 2024, collision on Weaver Road passed away this morning (7/08) at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. He is identified as 4-year-old Jamison Beck of Florence.

BOONE COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A four-year-old non-verbal autistic child is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car in Florence early Sunday morning.

According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. on the Weaver Road I-75 overpass. Investigators report that the child had wandered away from a nearby apartment complex after his family had gone to sleep.

The child was taken to a hospital in Cincinnati for treatment. The Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
