LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW)- The number one player in Kentucky for the 2025 class is going to play his college football at the state’s flagship institution.
Western Hills’ Javeon Campbell, a edge rusher standing at over 6 feet tall, had his list down to nine schools before ultimately picking Kentucky on July 2.
The Wildcats and the Alabama Crimson Tide were his top two choices.
Campbell, who has played one season of high school football, racked up 14.5 sacks in just 7.5 games played.
Kentucky’s 2025 recruiting rankings had been on the rise, but Campbell’s commitment pushed the Cats up to the 20th ranked class in the nation and ninth in the Southeastern Conference according to 247 Sports.
