Martin County continues to have financial problems

MARTIN COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Martin County’s financial woes continue to have a negative impact on the people living there.

The sheriff’s department announced Friday afternoon, the fiscal court has not paid a bill owed to the vendor that supplies the county’s taxing program.

According to the department, that means it won’t be able to collect taxes since the program has decided to suspend its services.

It’ll impact taxing districts like Warfield, Inez, the health department, and the fire and 911 districts.

Over the winter, the county was making headlines for cutting off water to customers, also due to lack of funds.
