Mount Sterling man arrested on robbery and drug trafficking charges

MOUNT STERLING, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A Mount Sterling man, identified as 51-year-old Tommy Hardin, has been arrested on robbery and drug trafficking charges. Mount Sterling Police collaborated with Louisville detectives to apprehend Hardin on Tuesday.

Authorities accuse Hardin of robbing two businesses in Louisville last week. During his arrest, police found cocaine and methamphetamine at his home. Investigators have labeled Hardin as a violent career criminal.

In 2005, Hardin was convicted for robbing more than 30 businesses in Louisville. He also has prior robbery convictions in Warren, Meade, Nelson, Hardin, and Daviess counties. Hardin was paroled in 2022 after serving 20 years of a 40-year sentence.
