Mayor Linda Gorton declares ‘Blue Day’ to honor UK Baseball

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky Baseball’s historic post-season run has earned them an official day in Lexington.

Mayor Linda Gorton declared Saturday, June 15, Wear Blue Day in Lexington because of the Wildcats making their College World Series debut.

The ‘Cats will take on North Carolina State in Omaha, Nebraska, on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET.

Due to the team’s stellar play this season, Mayor Gorton says for Wear Blue Day, she calls on fans to wear their blue in support of the Wildcats.
