Lexington budget to get first reading

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Mayor Linda Gorton’s proposed budget, totaling more than $500 million, will undergo its first reading during Tuesday’s Urban County Council meeting in Lexington.

The proposed budget, unveiled in April, allocates funds for various initiatives, including the establishment of a private DNA testing lab aimed at enhancing law enforcement efforts to identify suspects and reduce crime rates.

A second reading and final vote scheduled for Thursday, June 13th.
