Man dies in Harlan County crash
CRANKS, Ky. (WTVQ)- A man was killed Friday in a single-vehicle accident in Harlan County.
State Police say 69-year old Jake Cope, of Baxter, was driving a 2017 Hyundai Tucson when he went off the right shoulder of U.S. 421 and hit an embankment.
Troopers say Cope was transported to Harlan ARH by ambulance where he later died from his injuries.
Drugs and alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash, according to State Police.
Investigators say Cope was wearing a seat belt.
