Early voting begins Thursday in Kentucky
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Kentucky voters will have a chance to submit their ballots beginning beginning Thursday for the state’s early voting period.
This year’s primary is next Tuesday, May 21st, but you can cast your ballot early starting this Thursday.
The early voting period runs through Saturday.
To cast your ballot all you need to bring is a form of ID when arriving at your closest polling location.
Secretary of State Michael Adams, highlighted the benefits of the early voting period.
“Early Voting is good for two groups of voters, it’s good for the voters who vote early, cause it is more convenient for them, it’s also good for the votes who don’t vote early, because the lines are just that much shorter on Tuesday. When other people vote, Thursday or Friday, or Saturday, between 13-19% of voters have voted early the past several elections and, it just makes the line shorter on Tuesday,” said Adams.
