Mystik Dan to run in the Preakness

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Trainer Kenny McPeek confirmed Saturday morning that Kentucky Derby winner Mystik Dan will line up at Pimlico next weekend for the 2024 Preakness.

The Preakness is 1 3/16 miles, compared to the Derby’s 1 1/4 miles. McPeek said that the shorter distance actually might be better for the horse; saying that at that distance in the Derby, Mystik Dan was a couple lengths in front.

The horse will ship out Sunday morning.
