Woman arrested for assault with shovel

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Lexington police have arrested 31-year-old Amber Elam for assault, after they say she beat a neighbor with a shovel back in April.

According to police, Elam confronted the victim because he had allegedly given police information about her boyfriend.

Police say the boyfriend held the man down while Elam hit him repeatedly in the head and chest with a shovel.

Police describe his injuries as serious.
