Tayna Fogle body cam footage released by police
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Hours after charges against Lexington Councilwoman Tayna Fogle were dropped, the Lexington Police Department released body camera footage of her arrest.
The footage provided by police shows Fogle swiping the hand of the officer away as he attempted to guide her, prompting Officer Sharp to arrest her. The incident unfolded as Officer Sharp entered the AT&T store, with Councilwoman Fogle seated at one of the tables, refusing to leave.
At the start of the footage, Fogle is seen engaging in a verbal altercation with police, adamantly expressing her refusal to leave the store. She is heard saying, “Lock up the councilmember — you go right ahead,” when instructed by police to depart.
Although she never explicitly refused to leave, Fogle appeared to disregard Officer Sharp’s attempts to facilitate her departure by ignoring his questions.
Further updates on this developing story will be provided as we learn new information.
