Murder investigation in Rockcastle County underway; suspect arrested, says KSP

LIVINGSTON, Ky.– (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A man is behind bars today, after being arrested on murder charges in Rockcastle County, according to Kentucky State Police.

It happened on Monday when a shooting incident was reported on Sandhill Road around midday.

Authorities responded to an anonymous call to find a man, later identified as Benjamin F. Jones Jr., aged 54, from Livingston, Kentucky, lying on the road with gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, Mr. Jones was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Rockcastle County Coroner.

Following their investigation, law enforcement arrested Terry L. Burke at Misty Lane in Mount Vernon. Burke has been charged with murder and is currently in custody at the Rockcastle Detention Center.

The incident remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police, and further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
