KSP looking for person of interest in murder investigation, say he’s “armed and dangerous”

**UPDATE*** KSP Post 11 London arrested Clayton D. Cox for Murder and Tampering with physical evidence. This case is still under investigation by Detective Ryan Loudermilk.

ORIGINAL STORY:

LIVINGSTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) –Kentucky State Police are looking for a person of interest as they investigate a shooting death in Rockcastle County.

KSP says they were called out Sunday (4/28) just before 5:30 p.m. regarding a welfare check on Goochland Cave Road in Rockcastle County.

When they arrived, officers discovered a deceased male with apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as Joshua L. Dooley, 43, of Mount Vernon, Kentucky. Rockcastle County Coroner confirmed Dooley’s death at the scene, and his body was taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.

In the wake of the discovery, KSP detectives are actively seeking a person of interest in connection with the incident. Clayton D. Cox, 49, of Mount Vernon, Kentucky, has been identified as a person of interest. Authorities caution the public against approaching Cox, as he is believed to be armed and dangerous.

The investigation into the fatal shooting is being led by Post 11 Detective Ryan Loudermilk, who was assisted at the scene by personnel from Post 11, Rockcastle County Sheriff’s Office, Rockcastle County EMS, and Rockcastle County Coroner.
