Bengals select Amarius Mims in first round of NFL draft

DETROIT, Mi. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – With the 18th pick of the NFL draft, the Cincinnati Bengals selected Amarius Mims, a 6-foot-8 340-pound offensive tackle from Georgia. Mims didn’t allow a single quarterback hit or sack in his college career (377 pass-blocking snaps).

Mims suffered an ankle injury in 2023, and had to undergo surgery before he finished the last three regular season games.

Mims will most likely be behind Trent Brown on the depth chart. However, many say that this was a good pick for the Bengals, as protecting quarterback Joe Burrow seems to be a main focus.

The Bengals still have picks in all remaining rounds.
