Soldier missing after outing on the Tennessee River

LYON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- A day spent enjoying the weather this weekend has ended in a search for a missing Fort Campbell soldier.

Crews are looking for a man last seen Friday while tubing around mile marker 30 on the Tennessee River near Lake City.

The Lyon County Emergency Management Deputy Director, Randy Reed says the water was rough at first, but has since calmed down.

A statement from Fort Campbell doesn’t name the soldier, but says he was enjoying time with friends tubing on the river when he went missing.
