When and where to watch the Eclipse according to NASA

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Do you want to get the most out of viewing the 2024 Eclipse, but aren’t sure when and where the best place will be?

You can check it out by zip code, courtesy of NASA’s interactive map, here.

You’ll be able to see if you’re near the path of totality, or, if the extent of a partial eclipse you’ll most likely see.

According to NASA, the path begins in Mexico and enters the United States in Texas, traveling through Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. Small parts of Tennessee and Michigan will also experience the total solar eclipse. The eclipse will enter Canada in Southern Ontario, and continue through Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Cape Breton. The eclipse will exit continental North America on the Atlantic coast of Newfoundland, Canada, at 5:16 p.m. NDT (3:46 p.m. EDT).

For example, if you live in the 40509 zip code in Fayette County, you would see the eclipse at 96.3% at 3:08 p.m. today (4/08), weather permitting.
