Thousands lose power in Lexington neighborhood

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Around 1,700 people in Lexington lost power Thursday night into Friday morning.

Kentucky Utilities says around midnight, the power went off near Bryan Station and Anniston Drive.

Police say about an hour later, a transformer blew at Bryan Station and Northside Drive.

Kentucky Utilities hasn’t confirmed those are related and aren’t sure yet what caused the outage.

Kentucky Utilities is asking people who live in the area to look out for any downed power lines, wires and trees.
