Discolored water affects some businesses in Hamburg
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Some restaurants in the Hamburg area of Lexington stopped taking customers Wednesday night due to discolored tap water.
Kentucky American Water says the company put in a new water line in the area Wednesday, and when lines were flushed, sediment was stirred-up, leading to the discoloration.
Some area restaurants, including Double Dogs, Malone’s, and Shakespeare & Company closed their doors and stopped taking customers as a precaution. Taziki’s remained open.
According to Kentucky American Water, the water was back to normal by 11 p.m. Wednesday.
