Storm debris pickup, disposal after the storms beginning Wednesday
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Starting today (Wednesday, 4/03), you will be able to take your storm debris to two locations for disposal.
According to the City of Lexington, the locations are the Haley Pike landfill (4216 Hedger Lane), and the training pad on Old Frankfort Pike (1631 Old Frankfort Pike).
Both locations are open between 8 am and 5 pm daily, through Sunday.
You’ll need proof of residence in Fayette County (driver’s license or other proof).
There is no charge for disposing your storm debris at the two locations.
The city says if you live in urban areas, you can leave your debris at the curb, where it will be collected. According to the city, it should be stacked between the sidewalk and curb.
Information from the City of Lexington:
- If you have city pickup, material should be left at the curb to be picked-up as part of the normal weekly service as long as it is cut in 4-foot sections.
- If you do not have city pickup, or if the debris is not able to be cut into 4-foot sections, call 3-1-1 to schedule a pickup. The maximum length of debris able to be collected is 12 feet, and material cannot exceed 16 inches in diameter.
Those who missed garbage pickup on Tuesday will be served today (3/04).
