One dead in officer-involved shooting

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — According to the Lexington Police Department, a 47-year-old man is dead following an officer-involved shooting on the 200 block of Regency Point Path at 12:24 a.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the suspect with a firearm. Officials say shots were fired and the suspect was struck; he was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

No officers were shot during this incident.

The shooting is now being investigated by the Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team. The officers involved in the shooting will be placed on administrative assignment pending the outcome of the investigation.
