London woman charged with murder of husband

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A London woman is facing murder and tampering charges in connection to the death of her husband.

According to London police, 59-year old Yolanda Lomeli is accused of shooting her husband, Manuel Lomeli Jr., and tampering with physical evidence.

Police say they received a 911 call from a female caller saying her husband had been shot and was possibly dead.

When first responders arrived, police say they found the victim dead of an apparent gunshot wound.

According to police, during the investigation, it was determined the caller, Yolanda Lomeli, had shot her husband. Yolanda was arrested and taken to the Laurel County Detention Center.

The incident was investigated by the Laurel County Major Crimes Task Force, consisting of law enforcement from the London Police Department, the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office and the Kentucky State Police.
