Lexington bar offers “Fire Cal” shots

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Emotions continue to run high for University of Kentucky fans following the Wildcats’ upset loss to 14-seed Oakland in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. A local bar in Lexington is offering ‘March Sadness’ deal to help Solid Blue fans cope.

Chevy Chase Inn — the oldest bar in Lexington — is offering “Fire Cal” shots. Yes, that’s right. It’s a Fireball shot, but is instead called a “Fire Cal” shot.

Shots are just $4 each and the deal will last through the remainder of the NCAA Tournament.

The bar’s owner says the shots are in honor of March Sadness and to help Wildcats fans deal with their sorrow and frustration with mens basketball head coach John Calipari.
