Motion of change of venue discussed at hearing, could be set in May

NELSON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) — The three men charged on connection to the disappearance of Crystal Rogers: Brooks Houck, Joseph Lawson and Steve Lawson appearing in a Nelson County courtroom.

The prosecution saying that the discovery aspect of the case has been completed.

Various motions were heard during the hearing, including the one for a change of venue.

The prosecution agreeing that the case should be tried outside of Nelson County.

Crystal Rogers’ mother was in attendance, as well as Brooks Houck’s family.

A friend of the Rogers’ family spoke on how the family has been holding up, saying they’re happy it is going through the justice system, but at the same time they wish it was over.

Soon after the hearing, Steve Lawson’s attorney spoke on his motion to dismiss his clients charges, he says another hearing may be needed to discuss evidence regarding immunity for Steve for aiding law enforcement.

Next hearing is set for May 1st at 1 p.m. attorneys will tell the judge if they decided where the change of venue will take place.
