Child sex dolls; Senate passes bill to criminalize those who have them

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) —- A bill to criminalize child sex dolls passed through the Senate unanimously on Wednesday.

Representative Stephanie Dietz says House Bill 207 will provide the tools necessary for law enforcement to arrest those who have, make or distribute child sex dolls in the Commonwealth. Artificial Intelligence has also become a problem in enabling child sex predators.

“Using artificial intelligence to using computer programs to then take the faces of these minors and put them on adult bodies,” Rep. Dietz said.

In a committee meeting last week, Senator Karen Berg said child sex dolls could actually help prevent “minor-attracted persons” from attacking children.

“The limited amount of research that’s done on these dolls suggests that for people who are attracted to minors that these dolls actually decrease their proclivity to go out and attack children,” Sen. Berg said.

Dietz said there is correlation between people who commit child sex crimes and the possession of child sex dolls.

“Really, those child sex dolls, they escalate the behavior, so contrary to what some people think, it actually would promote the behavior,” Dietz said.
