Georgetown PD hosting benefit auction for Mounted Patrol Unit

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ)- You have a chance to bid on a piece or race horse history while helping law enforcement.

The Georgetown Police Department’s Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association is hosting an auction will all proceeds going toward the formation of the Georgetown Police Department’s Mounted Patrol Unit.

GPD is auctioning off a shadow box display case with a the halter worn by California Chrome, a certificate of authenticity, and a replica saddle cloth of the saddle cloth worn by California Chrome in the 2014 Kentucky Derby.

The halter and shadow box were donated by Taylor Made Stallions.

You have until May 11 to make a bid on the halter and shadow box.

California Chrome was the 2014 Kentucky Derby winner, the 2014 Preakness Stakes Winner, and the 2016 Dubai World Cup Winner.

California Chrome also won Horse of the Year in 2014 and 2016 and is the richest Kentucky Derby winner in history with earnings of $14,752,650.00.
