Man found shot in Floyd County home

WEEKSBURY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police are investigating a shooting in Floyd County after a man was found dead in a home Friday morning.

The Floyd County Coroner’s Office say 37-year-old Michael Edney was discovered shot at the home at around 8:30 a.m after the caller found Edney laying at her door steps.

Upon the preliminary investigation, KSP says there are allegations Edney came to the house and made threats to harm the people inside as he was trying to enter the home. It appeared Edney was armed with a firearm while he was at the home.

Edney’s body was taken to Frankfort for an autopsy.

KSP Detective’s contacted the Commonwealth Attorney’s office and it was decided to continue the investigation and present all evidence to the Grand Jury for a decision if any charges will be made.
