Beshear praises Bourbon on the Banks’ festival contributions
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) — In Frankfort, Gov. Andy Beshear is celebrating the difference Bourbon on the Banks is making for the community in Franklin County.
Tuesday, Beshear joined local leaders as festival organizers donated a portion of its proceeds to local schools and different organizations while also celebrating the bourbon industry.
“Bourbon is America’s native spirit. Even during a time when Kentucky’s whole economy is on fire, this industry continues to play a unique dual role in attracting investments and representing Kentucky across the world,” he said.
The Bourbon on the Banks Festival is a bourbon-tasting event.
It happens every year in October on the banks of the Kentucky River at River View Park in Frankfort.
This year’s festival is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 5.
