Knox Co. man arrested for alleged copper wire theft
MANCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) — A Knox County man was arrested Wednesday morning after he allegedly cut copper wire out of phone and internet boxes on KY Route 11.
Tony Dezarn was arrested on theft by unlawful taking and criminal mischief charges.
According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Department, Dezarn had cut a large phone line from the utility pole that ran to the box, plus several locks and smaller wires.
The wiring was found inside Dezarn’s vehicle, deputies said.
The wires belonged to Windstream.
Dezarn was booked into the Knox County Detention Center.
