Lexington police increase patrols after reported child luring incident
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington police say they are increasing patrols in a neighborhood around Jessie M. Clark Middle School after a student reported a man tried to lure him into a truck.
The school sent a letter home to parents about the incident on Monday.
According to the school, the student says a man in a lowered, red truck with a light-colored camper top stopped in the area of Millpond Road and Winthrop Drive, opened the passenger side door and told him to get into the truck.
The student ran home and told his father about the incident. The father then called the school.
The school reported it to the Lexington Police Department.
Police say extra patrols were added around the area on Tuesday.
