Harrodsburg standoff suspect charged with attempted murder of officers
HARRODSBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) — A suspect in Harrodsburg is charged with attempted murder of two police officers after an hours-long standoff.
A man, who police identified as Carl Isham, and his mother were in a “domestic situation” beginning around 10 p.m. Tuesday, according to Harrodsburg police.
The incident happened in the Blue Ridge subdivision.
“Our officers showed up and when they knocked on the door, ‘Hey is everything okay?’ She says yes, the son starts firing off rounds,” Cpl. Jarrod Duncan told ABC 36.
Duncan says the officers were met with gunfire when they arrived.
After a standoff that lasted “a few hours,” the 52-year-old surrendered.
He’s charged with two counts of attempted murder of a police officer and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
Isham was booked into the Boyle County Detention Center.
His mugshot is not yet available.
At least 10 agencies assisted police at the scene.
