Somerset man accused of raping woman, trying to burn her house down

SOMERSET, Ky. (WTVQ) — A Somerset man is accused of raping a woman in August and then trying to burn her house down this month.

On Dec. 4, Pulaski County deputies were called to a home on Beasley Lane around 2:30 a.m. for a fire. Investigators determined the cause of the fire was arson.

Hours later, a deputy was sent to the same area to serve an emergency protective order on Justin Daniels.

The victim of the home fire told deputies that Daniels was the one who set her home on fire, according to Sheriff Bobby Jones.

Deputies interviewed the victim who said Daniels had threatened to burn her home down the day before the fire and that he had raped her on a previous occasion in August.

Daniels, 34, was arrested and charged with arson and rape.
