KSP: One injured, one arrested after shooting in Madison County

RICHMOND, Ky (WTVQ)- One man has been injured and another man is behind bars after a shooting Madison County Friday afternoon.

Kentucky State Police say they were contacted around 5 p.m. Friday in reference to a shooting.

KSP says the shooting happened outside a home on Gravel Lick Road in Richmond.

Police say 58-year-old Steve N. Dargavell and 34-year old Jonah Skaggs were fighting, when Dargavell allegedly shot Skaggs.

Skaggs was taken to UK hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Dargavell was taken into custody at a home on Dreyfus Road. He is behind bars at the Madison County Detention Center and has been charged with assault and wanton endangerment.

KSP says the investigation is ongoing.

Kentucky State Police and Madison County Emergency Services responded to the scene.
