‘Beloved’ Mercer Co. Board of Education member Larry Yeager dies
HARRODSBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) — A beloved member of the Mercer County Board of Education has died, Superintendent Jason Booher wrote in a letter to the Titan community.
Larry Yeager, who worked on the board for the past 13 years, has passed away.
Yeager began in the Mercer County school system as a student first, then a teacher, coach, athletic administrator and ultimately a member of the Board of Education.
“In his role as a school board member, Mr. Yeager continued his unwavering dedication to our community, advocating for the betterment of our schools and the well-being of our students,” said Booher.
“We stand together in support, offering our deepest condolences and the comfort of our close-knit Titan community,” he continued.
The Kentucky School Boards Association also issued the following statement on X:
“We are sorry to learn of the passing of Mercer Co. board member Larry Yeager. Mr. Yeager was a dedicated board member who always put students first. He also served on KSBA’s Board of Directors from 2016-2019. Our thoughts are with his family and the @MercerCoSchools community.”
