Widow Of Slain Bardstown Police Officer Thanks Community
The widow of slain Bardstown police officer Jason Ellis sent a letter to the people of Nelson county, thanking them for helping her and her children through a difficult time.
Amy Ellis sent the letter through the Fraternal Order of Police.
It reads, in part: "From words of encouragement to the preparation of family meals to a multitude of cards, letters, text, emails and phone calls it goes to show how caring and compassionate this community is through their ability to wrap their arms around those who face a life altering circumstance. I want you to know how appreciative I am and continue to gain strength from reading every letter, and I am lifted up with every prayer and am touched by every kind word. I ask that you continue to pray not only for me, Hunter and Parker but for all the officers and all others involved. Most of all I ask that you remember Jason."
Jason Ellis was shot and killed back on May 25th.
No one has been arrested in connection to the case.
