A police involved shooting in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ/WHAS) – Saturday morning in Louisville, police shot a man they say had a gun.

The shooting happened around 1 a.m. at the Breckenridge Square Apartments.

Officers say they were talking to two men in a car when the passenger got out with a gun.

The department’s chief says the officers gave the man first aid until EMS workers got there.

He was taken into surgery Saturday morning at U of L hospital.

The department says it will investigate the shooting.
